Innisfail Eagles advance to North Central Hockey League semi-finals

The Innisfail Eagles have swept their way into the second round of the playoffs.

The Birds have taken their best-of-five opening round North Central Hockey League series from the Devon Barons three games to none after winning 6-4 at the Twin Arenas on Wednesday, February 11th.

Innisfail players fired over 70 shots at the Barons in Game 3. The Eagles outshot Devon 72-48. Wade Waters made 44 saves for the home side. Chance Longjohn had a four point night (1 goal, 3 assists). Chase Thudium scored twice and set up another, while Tyler Berkholtz tallied once and dished out two helpers. Josh Gette and Michael Spafford also tallied for Innisfail.

The Eagles now await the results of the other match ups to see who they will face in the league semi-finals. They will be continuing their pursuit of a second consecutive Vanberg Cup championship.
