Investigation in Bowden/Olds area results in two arrests, drug trafficking charges

Court dates are coming up later this month in Didsbury for a man and a woman who were recently charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Olds RCMP seized 45 grams of suspected cocaine, 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a quantity of GHB, along with Canadian currency.

A 62-year-old male resident of Bowden and a 37-year-old female resident of Olds face two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking and after being released they are set to appear in court on February 23rd.

It all stemmed from a traffic stop which was conducted on February 4th during an investigation in the Bowden/Olds area.

The Olds RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) received assistance in the investigation from the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) team, Airdrie RCMP, as well as the RCMP Police Dog Service.

Mounties encourage community members who see criminal activity or suspected criminal activity to call their local RCMP detachment, CRIMESTOPPERS, or go online to www.P3Tips.com.
