Victim taken to hospital following assault with weapon in mall parking lot

Airdrie Rural RCMP were called to the scene on April 13th following reports of a stabbing in the parking lot of CrossIron Mills mall.

According to police, it happened at about 6:15pm just outside of entrance 4.

Mounties say the victim was purchasing items from the suspect when he was allegedly stabbed in the chest.

The investigation is continuing and RCMP note that the suspect fled the scene in a black SUV.

The victim was listed in serious condition and was taken to a hospital in Calgary.
