Colts off to a perfect start to 2026

The Mountain View Colts wrapped up a four-game homestand this past weekend with a pair of wins at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

Friday night saw the Colts welcome the Okotoks Bisons in a high-scoring affair. Ryder Hammer and Joseph Krukowski each scored twice, while Rhett Miller chipped in with a goal and two assists as Mountain View skated to an 8–4 victory. Nate Smith, Conner Campion, and Beau Van Vlaanderen also found the back of the net.

Before puck drop, Colts goaltender Kaden Toussaint was recognized by both his current team, Mountain View, and his former club, Sylvan Lake, for reaching the 50-win milestone in his HJHL career. The former league MVP followed up the ceremony with a strong performance, stopping 35 of 39 shots to earn his 51st career victory.

Saturday night featured a heated rivalry matchup as the Airdrie Thunder rolled into town, igniting a penalty-filled contest. Airdrie built a 3–1 lead midway through the second period, but the Colts responded in a big way. Tyler Giorgi led the charge with a power-play hat trick, giving Mountain View a 4–3 lead after two periods.

Giorgi added an even-strength goal in the third to cap off a four-goal night, while Tristan Visser and Nate Smith also scored as the Colts closed out a 6–4 win.

The victory completed a perfect four-game homestand to open 2026 for Mountain View. The Colts now hit the road Friday night to face the Wheatland Kings in Strathmore, before returning home Saturday to take on High River.

With the weekend sweep, Mountain View improves to 20-9 on the season and sits firmly in third place in the Northern Division, four points back of second-place Red Deer
