Together, we can outrun cancer.
Terry Fox Runs are coming up this month in communities across our nation.
Organizer Mary Thomson with the one in Water Valley highlights the fact that last year they raised over $15,000 and they are just hoping to hold another success edition this time around. She says “with our faithful supporters and from the community, and family and friends. It is close to $270,000 that we’ve raised since 1989 when we started keeping records and every year we just seem to do better.”
The run will be from 9am until 1pm on September 20th at the Chinook Wellness Centre in Water Valley and you can donate to their specific run online via the Terry Fox Foundation website. Thomson says “the Terry Fox Run supports all cancers and that is why I believe in it so much. There isn’t anyone that hasn’t been touched by cancer and to know that the money is going to research and where it is suppose to go. All things are volunteered or donated. I just hope that we have another great year like we always do and you are welcome to come.”
