Mountain View Colts hand out annual awards

The Mountain View Colts reflected on the 2025-2026 HJHL season during the team’s annual banquet last weekend.

The Most Valuable Player for the Colts was goalie Kaden Toussaint from Rimbey.

The Rookie of the Year was Nate Smith from Innisfail.

Mountain View’s top scorer was Ryder Hammer from Olds.

The Ivan Olsen Most Improved Player award went to Mason Claeys from Crossfield.

Trey Mueller from Olds received the Michael Brander Leadership Award.

Blake Stoddard from Penhold was the Frank Murphy Top Defenceman award winner for the Colts for the second year in a row.

Aiden Saunders from Olds was captured Mountain View’s Warren Persinger Heart and Hustle award.

The Colts also acknowledged their three graduating players Tyler Gyori from Bentley, Cole Fox from Innisfail, and Rimbey’s Kaden Toussaint.

Meanwhile, Hockey Alberta’s Junior B provincial championship will be awarded this week in Lloydminster.

Six teams will be competing for the banner including the Heritage Junior Hockey League champs – the Medicine Hat Cubs.

Medicine Hat’s first game will be against the host team – the Lloydminster Bandits – on Wednesday, April 1st at 8pm.

The Junior B provincial title game is slated for this Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
