All new stories and tour at the Hainstock Cemetery on August 4

An interesting opportunity to learn some local history is coming back by popular demand next month.

Board member Gary Yewell says the Hainstock Cemetery is located 3 miles west of Olds on Highway 27 and the first graves are from the late 1800s.

He notes that they will once again be hosting a special event at the cemetery with tours and more for about an hour starting at 6:30pm on Tuesday, August 4th. Yewell says “we’re going to provide some more detailed history of the cemetery and it will include six short stories about pioneers who are interned at the cemetery. We’re trying to do a little bit of fundraising for more enhancement and beautification of the cemetery.”

Yewell adds, to bring along a lawn chair for the August 4th evening at the Hainstock Cemetery and donations will be greatly appreciated as well. Donations can also be sent to [email protected] or call 403-994-0359.
