Colts corral winning bid to host 2027 Provincial Junior B Championship

Hockey Alberta’s Junior B Provincial Champion will be crowned next season in Mountain View County.

The Heritage Junior Hockey League’s Mountain View Colts were proud to announce on Wednesday, April 8th that they will host the provincial tournament from April 7th to the 11th of 2027 at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

Host Committee Chair Mike Pieper says the Colts will be one of six teams that will compete for the gold medals and a provincial banner. He says “three games a day, so we’re looking to make this an affordable event that folks can bring their families to and enjoy some high caliber hockey, and showcase the great support we’ve got in this community and pack the Memorial Complex for – hopefully – every game of the tournament.”

Details about how volunteers, local businesses and fans can get involved in the 2027 Junior B Provincials will be shared on the Colts website as planning for the event progresses.

This past season marked the 10th anniversary of the Colts 2015-2016 HJHL championship team. They competed at the Junior B provincials that year in Red Deer.

The Lloydminster Bandits hosted the Junior B Provincials this season with the La Crete Lumber Barons defeating the Medicine Hat Cubs by the score of 7-2 in the title game.
