Linked RCMP investigations in west-central Alberta result in arrests, dozens of charges laid

A total of six people ranging in age from 26 to 43 have been charged following a multi-jurisdictional investigation which was led by the Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT).

The investigation started on April 17th of this year and the list of RCMP detachments that provided assistance included Olds, Rocky Mountain House, and Sundre.

Mounties searched a residence in Caroline where various items which are known to be used for conducting vehicle thefts were seized, as well as a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition.

Police also located and recovered multiple vehicles that had been reported stolen out of several communities from two properties in Sundre on April 28th. RCMP say evidence was found that of the vehicle identification numbers were tampered with.

A 34-year-old woman from Caroline faces one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one count of fraudulent concealment.

He failed to attend court in Red Deer last month and a warrant has since been issued for his arrest.

A 38-year-old man from Rocky Mountain House was ticketed for driving while unauthorized.

A 39 year-old man from Red Deer faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, failure to comply with conditions, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

A 26-year-old man from Rocky Mountain House faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, fraudulent concealment, possession of unmarked cigarettes, and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

A 40-year-old man from Mountain View County faces charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x3), possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, fraudulent concealment (x3), trafficking in property obtained by crime, possession of ammunition contrary to an order, and tampering with a vehicle identification number (x3).
