Where the west really begins: 72nd annual Water Valley Stampede on June 6-7

The Foothills Cowboy Association is blazing a trail to head 5 miles west of Water Valley this weekend.

President Chris Montgomery with the Water Valley Stampede Association highlights a couple of the local entries. He says “we’ve got some ladies bronc riding that we are super excited to have them come back. They put on just a whale of a show last year. We’ve got a new group of 18+ ladies cow riding that we are going to focus on this year too and, of course, like I said we’ve got the wild ponies for the kids and mutton bustin’ for the little ones. Yeah, it should be a time.”

The FCA performances at the Water Valley Stampede are at 1pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Montgomery reminds everyone that it is a cash only event and the Cremona Lions Club will be on hand running the concession. For more details visit the Water Valley Stampede Facebook page.
