Mountain View Colts start their 2026 HJHL playoff run tonight on 96.5 The Ranch

The top two rookie scorers in the Heritage Junior Hockey League this season are members of the Mountain View Colts.

Nate Smith (2007) from Innisfail and Sawyer Campbell (2007) from Didsbury both finished with 35 points. Smith had one more goal (14), while Campbell played one fewer game (33).

The Colts also had Ty Gyori (2004) from Bentley finish tied for the overall point lead in the league during the regular season. He posted 59 points in 33 games (1.79 points per game). Diago Coelho of the Cochrane Generals also posted 59 points but in 36 games (1.64 Pt/G). 18 of Gyori’s points including 8 goals came in 11 games after joining the Colts from the Rocky Rams.

The playoffs will begin for the second place Mountain View (25-9-0) with a best-of-five North Division semi-final series against the third place Sylvan Lake Wranglers (25-8-3). The Colts have won all 11 games that they have played so far in 2026, while the Wranglers are the defending league champions. The two teams were separated by just one point when the 2025-2026 regular season concluded.
