The Mountain View Colts opened the 2026 portion of the Heritage Junior Hockey League regular season with a pair of home games at the Didsbury Memorial Complex this past weekend.
On Friday night, the Colts welcomed the Coaldale Copperheads for their lone visit to Didsbury this season. Joseph Krukowski shone bright, recording a four-point night to lead Mountain View to a 4–1 victory. In goal, Kaden Toussaint was outstanding, stopping 43 shots to earn his fifth win of the season with the Colts.
Saturday night saw Mountain View host a Northern Division rival in the Rocky Rams. Rocky struck first, as Keegan Landry opened the scoring, but the Colts responded in a big way—rattling off six unanswered goals to seize control of the game.
Lucas Billings scored twice, while Ryder Hammer, Beau Van Vlaanderen, Rhett Miller, and Andrew Pieper also found the back of the net during a dominant second period that blew the game wide open.
Tristian Visser added both a shorthanded goal and a power-play tally in the third period, while Rocky picked up a consolation marker from Gready Landry, as the Colts skated to a 9–3 win on home ice.
Mountain View’s power play finished the night 2-for-6, and William Steingart made 15 saves to earn his third win as a Colt.
With the victory, the Colts improve their record to 18-9 and sit third in the Northern Division standings—four points back of the second-place Red Deer Vipers, a matchup that appears all but destined for a playoff showdown in the HJHL postseason.
The Colts will continue their four-game homestand next weekend, hosting the Okotoks Bisons on Friday night and the Airdrie Thunder on Saturday. Both games can be heard live on 96.5 The Ranch.
