Olds RCMP have laid multiple charges after stopping a suspected impaired driver in the early morning hours of November 27th.
Police were called around 3:12 am to reports of a vehicle swerving on Highway 2, north of Highway 582.
Officers located a white Dodge pickup in the ditch and detained the driver for an impaired investigation.
During the vehicle seizure, police found a bag containing suspected cocaine, along with scales and Canadian currency.
A concealed, loaded firearm was also recovered from the driver.
A 27 year old resident of Calgary is now facing several charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a loaded restricted firearm, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The suspect has been remanded into custody and was scheduled to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court yesterday.
