Don’t fret, Red Deer RCMP recover guitar following business break and enter

Talk about picking the wrong place to pedal some stolen musical instruments.

A 57-year-old man from Red Deer faces charges after a commercial business in the city’s downtown was broken into and items including a guitar with unique markings were allegedly stolen.

Police were able to recover the stolen guitar and foot pedals after they were found for sale online. A total of eight guitar foot pedals were taken.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in a neighbourhood of Riverside Meadows in Red Deer and an arrest warrant for the suspect has been issued. The charges are for possession of property obtained by crime and trafficking property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Mounties say the crime occurred at about 1:45am on February 13th and there glass was broken at the front entrance and interior doors of the business.
