The Olds College Broncos will be wearing Every Child Matters warm-up shirts across the games that are planned to take place during the next few days to honour Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
They will be standing together in support of survivors, families, and Indigenous communities and remembering that Every Child Matters. The Broncos in turn are honouring Olds College’s Indigenous Services members for the gift of their warmup shirts.
Among this week’s games for Olds College will be soccer at Richardson Pioneer Field on Sunday when the Broncos host the SAIT Trojans. The women’s game is at noon and the men will follow at 2:15pm. Last Sunday, the Broncos men’s soccer team tied Red Deer Polytechnic 1-all.
Meanwhile, Olds College’s rodeo team will be heading to the Northern Lights College Rodeo in Dawson Creek, B.C. this Saturday for the third CCRA fall rodeo of the year. Last weekend the Broncos had Wacey Nickel win the breakaway roping both nights, Kohen Kaufman and Brandsten Moore were first in team roping both nights, and Reese Dragaon won the goat tying on Sunday at the U of S fall rodeo in Saskatchewan.
