Kick up your heels: Local futsol player among Olds College’s athletes of the week

Brynne Smith from Olds is one of the Olds College Broncos athletes of the week.

She had a 5 goal game to help the Broncos women’s team beat the Ambrose Lions 8-4 last weekend at the ACAC Futsol South Regionals in Medicine Hat. Smith had 6 total goals at regionals as Olds College posted a win and a pair of losses.

Meanwhile, Teagan Dadey from Bonnyville had a hat trick for the Broncos men’s futsol team against Medicine Hat at regionals and he put up a total of 5 goals in their three losses. He is one of Olds College’s athletes of the week and one of the overall ACAC athletes of the week.

Coming up this weekend fans in Olds can watch the women’s hockey team’s final home game of the year. The Broncos will celebrate their seniors when Olds College faces off with the NAIT Ooks on Saturday at 7pm at the Sportsplex.

The Broncos basketball teams will host Lethbridge Polytechnic for a double dip this weekend with action at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday with the women at 6pm followed by the men at 8 o’clock. Saturday tip off is at 1pm for the ladies and the gentlemen will hit the court at 3.
