Results from 92nd Bighorn Stampede

The annual Bighorn Stampede kicked off the 2026 Foothills Cowboy Association season during the Victoria Day long weekend.

Among the local winners were Sundre’s Levi Hunter in tie down roping (9.9), Emett Archer from Didsbury in junior steer riding (72), Austin Simpson from Crossfield in novice horse riding (63.5), Bowden’s Taydee May Bezjack in junior barrel racing (16.105), and Gray Gardner from Carstairs along with Koaltyn Ogilvie from Sundre split top spot in junior bull riding (66),

Also placing first at the rodeo grounds five miles west of Caroline were Bluffton’s Quaide Skjonsberg in bareback (69.5), Tanner Henderson in bull riding (64), Yellowhead County’s Brayden Smith in saddlebronc (70), Big Valley’s Dale Skocdopole and Tyrel Gordon in team roping (6.3), Bryce Kulbacki from Stettler in steer wrestling (6.4), Strathmore’s Hadley Schiffner in ladies breakaway roping (2.93), Bluffton’s Kirby Richardson in junior breakaway roping (3.61), Aimee Cripps in ladies barrel racing (16.188), and Paisley Spronk in pee wee barrel racing (16.931).

FCA cowboys and cowgirls will be taking part in the 72nd Water Valley Stampede on June 6th and 7th.
