Oldie but a goodie: 120 years of western heritage being celebrated at 2026 Dog Pound Stampede

The Dog Pound Stampede is marking its 120th anniversary this year.

Ag Society Secretary Patricia McKean says they are proud to be Alberta’s longest standing rodeo. McKean says “this year we got commemorative belt buckles made. We will have a few extras that are first come, first serve for sale as well we have baseball caps and hoodies with our 120th year logo on them that people can pick up for a keepsake.”

The Invitational Ranch Rodeo begins at 4 o’clock on Tuesday, July 14th and then the Foothills Cowboy Association performance is on Wednesday, July 15th at noon. See more details about the full line up of events and activities on the Dog Pound Agricultural Stampede Association Facebook page.

The Dog Pound Ag Grounds are located just off Highway 22 in between Cremona and Bottrel.
