Case closed: Evidence supports Evans Law Office for the win at Innisfail Bonspiel

The fellowship and competition for another year concluded on Friday as the winners for 2026 were declared at the Innisfail Farmers and Farmerettes Bonspiel.

On Friday, January 23rd at the Innisfail Curling Club, the verdict favoured skip Wilson Lougheed and Evans Law Office as the A-event winner on the Farmers/Open side of the draw. Lane Purdie, Fred Armstrong, and Chad Evans rounded out that foursome.

The Open B-event winners were Richardson Pioneer with John Buyks, Rod Bradshaw, Ken Munro, and Josh Huising. The C-event belonged to Future Ag with Harvey Lind, Kyle Lind, Chris Lind, and Nic Gee. The D-event title went to Antler Hill Vet with Travis Phillips, Kevin Vennard, Don Brian, and Andrew Rittson-Bennett.

The Farmerettes A-event title was claimed by skip Carol Robertson and Wood Seed Farm. Their team also included Corinne Lougheed, Jen Wood, and Carol Bickley.

The B-event for the ladies was won by Zenally Professional Accountants with Marilyn Greenwood, Sadie McKay, Jocelyn Speirs, and Eileen Reid. The C-event for the Farmerettes saw Team RME New Holland come out on top with Patti Gardner, Gloria Anderson, Irene Saunders, and Sharon Medd.

The 78th annual edition of the event brought together the agriculture community and local businesses with a total of 44 combined rinks participating.

In 2027, the 79th Innisfail Farmers and Farmerettes Bonspiel will run from January 18-23.
