Organizers very pleased with turn out and engagement at 2026 Career Expo

The Executive Director with the Sundre & District Chamber of Commerce called the 2026 Career Expo and Job Fair a huge success.

Sandra Nielsen points out that they had a wonderful turnout of vendors with post-secondary institutions, industry leaders, and local businesses that were looking at hiring join them for it in the Sundre High School gym. She says “I think the students learned a lot about career paths going forward, what post-secondary education institutions there are, as well as possible places to get summer employment or (employment) going forward. I think they took away that this is actually a fun event. They were able to go around and ask lots of questions and had really good engagement with participants today.”

Nielsen estimates that about 250 guests stopped in at Thursday’s (May 1st) Career Expo and Hiring Fair. She says “I do believe that the attendees today really did well at speaking with the students, hopefully engaging interest in their industry as well as enticing them to come and check out their school.” Nielsen notes that they will absolutely be doing it again next year.
