Black and Gold + Orange and Black: Grizzlys home to Canucks on Halloween night

Costumes, candy, and the Calgary Canucks will all be part of an October 31st AJHL tilt for Grizzlys fans at the Sportsplex.

The Black & Gold will battle it out on the ice tonight with the two-time defending Alberta Junior Hockey League champions at 7pm. The Canucks are also the reigning Centennial Cup National Junior ‘A’ Hockey champs.

Kevin Watson, Manager of Business Operations for the Grizzlys, notes there will be lots of free candy for kids, plus if they wear a costume they can get into a mystery mini stick draw. For adults, the best dressed will have a chance to win a $50 gift card from Grouchy Daddy’s.

Then on Saturday at 6 o’clock, Olds will start of the month of November by welcoming the Camrose Kodiaks to the den for another round of the battle of the bears. Watson points out that there will be giveaways courtesy of the game night sponsor – Apple Creek Arcade. According to Watson, the U13AAA West Central Tigers have a couple of former Grizzlys on their coaching staff and their team will be doing some fundraising that night as well.

This weekend’s games are the start of six straight on home ice for Olds. Get tickets online at tickets.oldsgrizzlys.ca.
