Grizzlys announce Captains for 2025-2026 season, host Canmore on Olds College night

The Olds Grizzlys have rolled out the leadership group that will help them protect the den for the 2025-2026 AJHL season.

Head Coach Tyson Soloski highlights the fact that Hunter Motley from Czar, Alberta is the Captain. Soloski says “Hunter is just a tremendous person. He is a great leader on and off the ice. He is one of the hardest working players that we have. He leads by example and definitely vocal at the same time.”

Soloski adds, that the Alternate Captains are Brody Martin from Prince George, B.C., Brendan Thomas from Calgary, and Rhett Miller from Olds. Soloski says “Rhett Miller very similar, like him and Hunter are from the same cloth. Both guys are well respected in the room. Both guys are great leaders and Miller being a local Olds product, we were super proud to name him an ‘A’.”

The Grizzlys four game homestand resumes this evening when the Canmore Eagles come to town at 7:30 on Tuesday, September 23rd. Both teams are 0-2 so far and will be searching for their first wins of the new Alberta Junior Hockey League season.

Tonight’s game against the Eagles is Olds College night. Grizzlys tickets are $5 bucks for those with a college ID, there are also beer and merchandize specials for college students. Tickets and more details can be found at oldsgrizzlys.ca.
