Strong support for 15th annual Mountain View Seniors’ Housing Foundation golf tourney

Community members hit the links today (September 11th) to support Mountain View Senior’s Housing.

The 15th annual golf classic is taking place at the Carstairs Community Golf Club and the local organization was thrilled to announce on its Facebook page this week that it is a sold out tournament.

Erin McDowall, Director for the Mountain View Seniors’ Housing Foundation’s Board, says they were established in 2002 to help support Mountain View Seniors’ Housing and they operate as a registered charity to assist with fundraising for the needs of both the seniors and the lodges in their local communities.

McDowall highlights some of the projects they have raised money for in the past. She says “we’ve been able to provide therapeutic tubs, patio furniture, dining room furniture, flower beds, benches, activities supporting wellness, special events for the residents and other things of that nature that really help to improve their quality of life.” McDowall says at this point, they have a big project coming up because they need to update the courtyard for the dementia ward at one of the lodges.
