Rotary Club of Olds hosting District Curling Bonspiel next month

The Rotary Club of Olds is excited to be welcoming in fellow Rotarians for a house party this year at the Olds Curling Club.
The 62nd annual Rotary District 5360/5370 Curling Bonspiel will be a rocking good time of socializing, sweeping, and sliding out of the hack.
It is coming up from February 28th through March 2nd.
On Monday, Olds council approved a sponsorship in the amount of $1,500 to the Rotary Club of Olds for the bonspiel.
According to the Town, the source of the funding will be from the Mountain View Power sponsorship in the annual operating budget.
The Rotary Club of Olds will welcoming 24 teams to the bonspiel from Alberta, northern and southern B.C., as well as western Saskatchewan.
Winners of this Rotary event will qualify for the World Championship Bonspiel in Scotland in 2026.
A couple members of the Rotary Club of Olds – District 5360 – won the 2024 Rotary World Curling Championship in Peterborough, Ontario. Andy Sweetman and Gary Gaudette from Olds along with third was Darren Grierson from Calgary-West and Skip Collin Georget from Airdrie beat Grande Prairie 7-5 in the final.
