Brushing aside a dilemma: Olds Curling Club hurries hard to help house Didsbury Farm and Ranch Bonspiel

User groups and organizations are adjusting and getting help from surrounding communities in the wake of the unfortunate news last week about the closure for the season of the Didsbury arena and curling rink.
An ammonia leak in the condenser unit/cooling tower was discovered during regular maintenance of the ice plant, according to Mayor Rhonda Hunter.
Hunter adds, the Town of Didsbury will be working with the contractor to follow all protocols and it is anticipated the replacement condenser unit will be delivered and installed within the next three to four months.
Curlers are among one of the facilities user groups that have received assistance from a surrounding community to keep a big bonspiel going. The 2024 Didsbury Farm and Ranch Bonspiel will move from the Didsbury curling rink to the Olds Curling Club from January 6th through the 10th.
The Didsbury Farm and Ranch Bonspiel Committee would like to thank the Olds Curling Club for offering their club as a venue to allow their annual January tradition to still happen.
