‘Very concerning’ discovery by Drumheller RCMP of Fentanyl in the shape of a heart

This month RCMP have been investigating drug trafficking in and around the community of Drumheller.

A man and a woman were arrested following a traffic stop at the Shell Gas Station just after 10:20pm on Wednesday (December 11th).

Mounties say a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in quantities of Fentanyl, methamphetamine, Canadian currency, and other drug trafficking evidence being discovered.

The 37-year-old woman from Hanna (Crystal Luider) and the 51-year-old man from Wheatland County (Shane Pentelescu) jointly face charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

They both have upcoming court dates in Drumheller coming up in the near future.

RCMP are continuing to investigate this matter and they are issuing “a warning to the public that the seized Fentanyl, in this case, was in the shape of a heart. This is very concerning, as it may make it more appealing to children who may think it is candy. Please speak to your children about this danger.”

Contact the Drumheller RCMP detachment at 403-823-7590, your local police service, or CRIMESTOPPERS if you have any additional information pertaining to this investigation.
