Updated Economic Development Action Committee to include more regional work

Olds council hopes that it makes sense, and potentially dollars as well, to update the Town’s Economic Development Action Committee.

Second and third reading of the bylaw were approved at the September 28th council meeting.

Mayor Dan Daley highlights the fact that the update modernizes the committee to have a broader focus beyond Olds to include more regional economic development work. He says “our Economic Development Director has been very active in pursuing what are the needs, and what are the directions that we should be traveling in to ensure that we are boosting up our economy regionally which in turn will boost up our economy within the Town of Olds as well.”

As as result of the changes, the committee is allowed to have up to nine members including representation from the Town of Olds and Mountain View County, regional representatives, plus five public members. Apply to sit on the local Boards, Commissions, and Committees here.
