Colts look to defend the corral: Home opener on October 2 against Rimbey

The first home game of the brand new 2026-2027 Heritage Junior Hockey League regular season is coming up for this weekend for Mountain View Colts.

Colts General Manager Gord Krebs points out that they’ve got a great season ticket deal on right now. Krebs says “well we are actually selling season ticket lanyards. $140 dollars for the year for adults, $70 for seniors and kids under 10. We’ve got a drive going where if you buy an adult season ticket right now you get a free authentic game worn Colts jersey with the package. So, looking to get a bunch of season tickets sold and build on our fan base.” Secure your season ticket by contacting Gord via email – [email protected].

Krebs encourages fans to get to the Didsbury Memorial Complex for the warm up on Friday, October 2nd at 7:45 and then the player introductions ahead of the puck drop at 8:15 as part of the Colts home opener versus the Rimbey Royals. Live coverage can be heard on your radio as Olds Fertilizer and Agri Services Mountain View Colts hockey on 96.5 The Ranch will be there as well.

Last weekend’s season opening road trip saw the Colts top last year’s league champions – the Cubs – 5-4 on Saturday, September 26th in Medicine Hat before going to Coaldale and beating the Copperheads 6-5 on Sunday, September 27th.

The Colts are gunning for both a league and a provincial title this season. Hockey Alberta’s Junior B Provincial Championships are coming to the DMC from April 7th-11th, 2027. Anyone interested in volunteering during game nights or sponsorship opportunities this season can contact Gord as well.

Mountain View rounds out this weekend’s slate of games by visiting the Agri Risk Wheatland Kings at the Strathmore Family Centre Arena on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:45pm.
