Kodiaks defeat Grizzlys in round three of this season’s Battle of the Bears

As heard on 96.5 CKFM, a buzzer beater at the end of the first period helped the Camrose Kodiaks cruise to a 6-2 victory in Olds on Friday, November 29th.
The Kodiaks were awarded a goal by the officials on a controversial call with half a second left in the opening period which put them up two to nothing.
Camrose would carry that momentum forward and the lead would grow to 4-0 before the five minute mark of period two.
After the Kodiaks took a 6-0 stranglehold on the game, forwards Johnathan Doucette (2006) from Boston, Massachusetts and Mitch Patrick (2006) from Airdrie would get the Grizzlys on the board in the third period. They both finished the night with one goal and one assist.
Goaltender Ben Dardis (2004) from Mahtomedi, Minnesota made 39 saves for Olds. The Kodiaks (14-7-1-2) outshot the Black & Gold 45-18.
The Grizzlys (10-13-0-0) will host the Drayton Valley Thunder (9-9-3-2) for more Alberta Junior Hockey League excitement on Saturday, November 30th at 7pm and 96.5 CKFM will have live play-by-play coverage from the SportsComplex.
Drayton Valley was at home on Friday and the Thunder outlasted the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (10-13-1-1) by the score of 3-2 in a shootout.
