Offense erupts for Olds against the Xtreme in Devon

The floodgates finally opened up for the Olds Grizzlys on Saturday, November 16th.

The Black & Gold jumped out to a 6 to nothing first period lead in Devon, en route to a 10-4 victory over the Xtreme (4-16-1-1).

10 goals is the most in one game for Olds this season, surpassing the previous high water mark of 6 which came in a 6-1 win against Bonnyville (7-9-1-1) back on September 26th at the AJHL Showcase in Calgary.

It was a bounce back win for the Grizzlys offense after the team was blanked on Friday in Whitecourt as a three game road trip began with a 4-zip loss to the Wolverines (15-5-1-1). Whitecourt is tied for first overall in the AJHL along with the Grande Prairie Storm (15-3-1-1).

After 20 games this season the Grizzlys are tied for 5th place in the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s South Division with the Drayton Valley Thunder (7-9-2-2) – both teams have 18 points.

Up next for Olds is a home and home series with the Thunder later this week. The Grizzlys go to Drayton Valley on Friday, November 22nd before returning to the SportsComplex for a rematch with the Thunder on Saturday, November 23rd at 7pm.
