Final bull rider to go provides thrilling finish at 2024 Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo

As heard on 96.5 CKFM on Saturday night, the last bull rider to go closed the show with a bang.

Two-time Canadian Finals Rodeo champion Edgar Durazo from Mexico brought the raucous crowd at the Olds Regional Exhibition grounds to their feet with an 89 point ride to win the bull riding title at the 2024 Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo.

It was one of three winning rides fans saw on Saturday night. Dallas Hay from Australia won in bareback with an 83 point effort, and Kole Ashbacher from Arrowwood narrowly got past several other competitors with an 85 in saddle bronc.

Other unofficial winners at Oldstoberfest included Cody Cassidy from Donalda in steer wrestling (4.0 seconds), Jason Smith from Wimborne in tie-down roping (9.5 seconds), Karlie Cowie from Mankota, Saskatchewan in barrel racing (17.15 seconds), Kylie Whiteside from Longview in breakaway roping (2.2 seconds), plus the duo of Tee McLeod from Waldeck, Saskatchewan and Sid Sporer from Cody, Wyoming in team roping (5.5 seconds).

This weekend’s Oldstoberfest Pro Rodeo was part of the 2025 Canadian Pro Rodeo schedule.
