Plot a course for spring cleaning: Help out at the Hainstock Cemetery on June 14

The annual clean-up day for the Hainstock Cemetery is coming up this weekend.

Board member Gary Yewell notes you can bring along a rake or whipper snipper and join them on Sunday, June 14th at 10am. He says “we are an organization of volunteers and we are trying to keep this historic cemetery looking good. The cemetery was originally the Olds cemetery and the first graves have been there from the late 1800s. Every year we try to arrange a clean up in the spring.”

He appreciated the help they received from the community a year ago. Yewell says “Yes we did, we had about oh maybe 20 people. It generally goes from about 10 and we are done by about noon. This year we might expand it a little. There are some white posts that we want to paint, so we are probably going to be doing a bit of painting as well.”

The Hainstock Cemetery is located just west of the Town of Olds on Highway 27 at Range Road 22.
