Winterfest wonderland in Sundre on Family Day

February 16th will bring with it a chance to frolic in the snow in Sundre.

Jon Allan, the Town’s Economic Development Officer, invites everyone to join them for all of the fun, free stuff that will be part of Sundre Winterfest 2026. He says “every year that we have had Winterfest, we’ve had people have coming for both the survival competition and Winterfest and so this year we expect it won’t be any different. Now that it is on just a single day, the Monday – Family Day, February 16th – we think that is going to be very busy.

See all that is planned by going online to sundrewinterfest.com. The long list of activities – most of which will be in the historic riverside area – includes ice sculptures, wagon rides, kids carnival, a new sled dog skjoring demo, a new open fat bike race, and more.

As ‘the gateway to the west country’, Allan says the annual event is part of Sundre’s identity and it adds to their culture.
