Mounties searching for suspect following attempted residential break and enter in Didsbury

RCMP are looking for a masked man who brandished a pair of knives while trying to enter a home in southwest Didsbury.

It happened at about 4:40pm on Tuesday, January 27th. According to police, the suspect approached a family outside of their home and tried to enter it before they forced him to leave.

No injuries were reported. Police believe it is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing risk to the public. RCMP also mention that these types of incidents are extremely rare in the Town of Didsbury.

Anyone who may have information about this suspect is asked to contact the Didsbury RCMP Detachment at 403-335-3382 or CRIMESTOPPERS.

The suspect is described as about 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, and RCMP note he may be associated with a black Chevrolet Malibu.
