Regional partners supporting business growth in Olds region at upcoming event

Small business owners and entrepreneurs who are hoping to better understand and access funding are invited to a special event next month in the Town of Olds.

Michelle McFadden-Loomis, Business Development Advisor at the Regional Business Support Network, points out that regional partners – including Business Link Alberta – are coming together for a Money Talks: presentation and networking session at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites from 11am until 2pm on Tuesday, February 10th. She says “to share how our business owners can prepare for that conversation when they go to their funding institution that they are prepared for that conversation. What the lender is looking for and how to get ready, and how that conversation isn’t as uncomfortable as someone might think.”

McFadden-Loomis mentions that it will include a panel discussion that will showcase many different financial institutions and lenders. She says “we are excited to be able to bring multiple financing institutions, funding institutions, experts in their field so business owners can listen to their expertise but also have an opportunity to network with them and present their business ideas or needs in a one-on-one type of environment. We will also be showcasing local entrepreneurs who have grown their business and how they accessed capital, how they accessed funding and what they what they did with it, and how they went through the process of building their business with that type of support.”

The Money Talks: Funding Options for Small Businesses event on February 10th is free and she says you can find a link to sign up on the Invest Olds Facebook page or go here.
