Driving impaired due to drugs or alcohol is never okay and can have devastating consequences.
That message was made clear to 50 impaired drivers who were removed from Alberta’s roadways this past weekend.
December 6th was National Impaired Driving Enforcement Day and Sergeant Darrin Turnbull with Alberta RCMP Traffic says “if you suspect an impaired driver, call 911 immediately.”
More than 300 total tickets (328) were issued during the initiative last Saturday including 54 for speeding and 5 for distracted driving. There were also 12 injury collisions, but no fatalities were reported.
