A tough weekend for the Mountain View Colts saw their winning ways in October come to an abrupt halt.
A trip to Sylvan Lake on Friday, October 24th resulted in a 7-0 loss for the Colts to the defending Heritage Junior Hockey League champions – the Wranglers.
It was the first loss for Mountain View since a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Wranglers in Didsbury back on September 26th. Since then the Colts had won 7 games in a row from September 27th through October 19th.
Mountain View also travelled to Rocky Mountain House on Saturday, October 25th where the Rams (4-7-1) outscored the Colts 9-5. Rams 19-year-old forward Ayden Probe (2006) from Thorsby was playing in just his second HJHL game and he scored six goals and added one assist to power his team to the win. Forward/defenceman Blake Stoddard (2006) from Penhold had three assists for Mountain View, while forwards Sawyer Campbell (2007) from Didsbury and Joseph Krukowski (2005) from Crossfield both contributed one goal and one assist.
The Colts (8-4-0) exit the weekend with the fourth most points in the HJHL and they sit in third place in the Northern Division.
Mountain View will host Sylvan Lake (9-2-1) on Halloween night at 8:15pm and then 96.5 The Ranch will have live play-by-play coverage on Saturday, November 1st at 8pm when they visit the Vipers (8-1-1) in Red Deer.
