Fatal head-on motor vehicle collision claims life of Springbrook resident

Mounties are passing along condolences to the family and friends of the deceased following a fatal collision this week in Rocky View County.

It happened at approximately 9pm on Tuesday on Highway 566 and Range Road 283.

Airdrie RCMP say their investigation has revealed that “an Izuzu box truck was eastbound when a Dodge Ram crested the hill westbound, and crossed into the eastbound lane.” According to police, the head-on motor vehicle collision resulted in the Dodge rolling into the ditch and the Izuzu wound up on its side.

The 35-year-old woman from Springbrook who was driving the Dodge was declared deceased at the scene.

There were three occupants in the Izuzu and RCMP say they received non life-threatening injuries.
