Tiffany Nixon ready for first full term on M.V. County council after being re-elected by acclamation

Tiffany Nixon is back in for another term after being acclaimed last week in Division 4 – Bergen/Elkton.

Nixon points out that it was very important for her to know that she could continue on serving the residents in her area and helping the community with any problems they might have and advocating for them. She is very honoured to be re-elected by acclamation. She says “I just want to be able to continue to support the community. They were very supportive of us, that is the reason why I ran originally. When my family went through some tragic times and some hard times, the community got behind us and really supported us in every way that they possibly could. So I just want to be able to give back and I’m glad that I’m still able to do that for another four years.”

Nixon has been on Mountain View County council since winning a by-election to fill the vacant Division 4 seat in October of last year. She says “I’ve learned a lot of stuff. There is a lot more rules and regulations then I had previously known, so I’m learning some of those and then also some areas where we maybe need to look at some changes, which we do on a regular basis at council. So we will just continue doing that and advocating for the residents in our areas.”

Nixon along with Jennifer Lutz in Division 7 – Rural Olds are the two Mountain View County councillors who were re-elected by acclamation in September. Nixon says “I think the general concerns or consensus is pretty much the same. Everybody wants safety, security, good roads to drive on and the ability to grow and develop on their land and in their community as they choose to.”

There will be races in a total of five of the seven Divisions in Mountain View County as part of the 2025 Municipal Election on October 20th.
