Red Deer Ward Trustee elected new RDCRSD Board Chair

Red Deer Catholic Regional School Division’s Board of Trustees was officially sworn in on Wednesday, October 29th.

Newly-elected Trustee Chris Andrew was elected by his fellow trustees as Board Chair, while Cynthia Leyson has been elected as Vice-Chair for the current school year.

Andrew and Leyson are two of the five Red Deer Ward Trustees and Leyson is one of just two returning Trustees. Murray Hollman also from the Red Deer Ward is the other who was re-elected by voters last week.

Rounding out the Trustees elected in the Red Deer Ward are Brenda MacDonald and Marty Reed. The top five vote getters in that Ward were Andrew (2,020), MacDonald (1,354), Reed (1,082), Leyson (1,050), and Hollman (1,037).

Cathy Bouchard (286) was elected with 55 per cent support in the Highway 11 Ward and Edward Wiper (156) received 52 per cent as he was voted in by those who cast ballots in the QEII Ward.
