RDCRS invites community input on full-day, every-day kindergarten for 2026–27

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools is exploring the possibility of offering full-day, every-day Kindergarten at all 13 elementary schools starting in the 2026–27 school year.

According to a news release issued on November 24th, the Division is inviting families, staff, and community members to participate in upcoming engagement sessions to help guide the decision.

Online sessions will be held on Monday, December 1st, with an afternoon session from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and an evening session from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Participants can join from home via Zoom, links are available on the RDCRS website.

In-person sessions will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, at three locations including St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School in Innisfail, École Our Lady of the Rosary School in Sylvan Lake, or Maryview School in Red Deer.

Summaries of survey results and community feedback will be shared following the sessions and posted on the Division’s website.

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools serves more than 9,600 students across central Alberta, including over 950 in the Home Education Program.
