Unofficial Town of Carstairs municipal election results: Dean Allan elected Mayor

For the first time in over 20 years, the Town of Carstairs has a new Mayor.

Lance Colby had served as Mayor of the Town for six terms dating back to 2003, but in this fall’s municipal election the race for the Mayor’s chair was between incumbent Dean Allan and challenger Erik Vester. Colby did not seek re-election for a seventh term.

Unofficially, Allan (959) collected over 71 per cent support and finished with 579 more votes than Vester (380).

There were 12 candidates running for the six Carstairs council spots and unofficially four incumbents have been re-elected – Angie Fricke (834), Shannon Wilcox (783), Jerry Roberts (703), and Sheldon Ball (650) – along with Darrah Selanders (690), and Cameron Tolley (598).

Others who wound up finishing 7-12 in votes garnered included Tom Humphrey (487), Glenda Alexander (476), Jennifer Massop (430), Cameron Falle (401), Rose Warden (325), and Rhonda Kraemer-Wise (187).

The results will become official on Friday, October 24th at noon.
