Chance Bensmiller rises to the top at Battle of the North

Chance Bensmiller from Dewberry has won the penultimate event of the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour season.

The 39-year-old Bensmiller’s first WPCA show win since 2021 happened last night (August 10th) at the Battle of the North in Dawson Creek and he notes that it is a surreal feeling. He says “I had a lot of help behind the scenes this weekend, but I mean at the end of the day guys still gotta drive the horses and they did exactly what I’d hoped they’d do and it worked out.”

Bensmiller’s winning time of 1:13.71 allowed his LMV Energy Services outfit to beat Chance Vigen’s second place time of 1:14.18. World standings leader Jason Glass was third with a 1:14.22 and Obrey Motowylo was fourth with a 1:14.54.

The World Professional Chuckwagon Association Finals will conclude the 2025 season in Rocky Mountain House later this week. Races kick off on Wednesday. 96.5 The Ranch is the radio broadcast home of the 2025 WPCA Pro Tour and live coverage can be heard of all five days from the World Finals.
