Mountainview County Peace Officers issue 107 traffic violations in first quarter of 2025

Mountainview County’s Legislative, Community, and Agricultural Services Department delivered its first quarterly report of the year to council on May 7th.

Within the report, which covers the months of January, February, and March of this year, county administration examines several key data points, including emergency service levels.

According to the report, in the first three months of the year, Olds took the lead among the county’s municipalities for fire department calls regarding vehicle and traffic collisions with 22, followed by Didsbury at 17.

Peace Officers also had a busy quarter, with an emphasis on seatbelt and speed compliance. Officers made several significant traffic stops for speeding, including a stop that saw a driver travelling 58 km/h over the speed limit near Dogpound.

In the first quarter of 2025, officers issued a total of 107 traffic violations- down from 152 when compared to the same time last year, made 24 commercial vehicle stops, and patrolled nearly 40,000 kilometres of county roads.
