The Mountain View Mavericks have picked up their first ever Rocky Mountain Junior B Teir 1 Lacrosse League playoff series victory.
The Mavs have advanced to the Central Division Final following a 2-0 series sweep of the Calgary Chill over the past weekend.
The Mavricks picked up a 8-5 victory at home on Thursday, before wrapping the series up with a 8-7 win on Saturday in Calgary.
The Mavs will now move on to battle the Rockyview Silvertips for the Central Division crown.
The Silvertips and the Mavericks had identical 14-5-1 records this regular season, but Rockyview won 2/3 head to head games to win the tie breaker and the #1 seed in the division.
The Silvertips are also hosting this year’s provincial championship.
Game#1 of the central division finals will be played on Thursday night in Airdrie, before the Mavericks welcome the Silvertips for Game #2 on Saturday.
