This Week Lammle’s New Music Monday spotlight is on Niagara Falls, Ontario native, Tim Hicks. Tim Hicks originally studied psychology and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a bachelor’s degree in the subject. While at school, he played open mic nights in the area. After graduating he decided to give singing and songwriting more attention and soon found himself playing gigs at local pubs and wineries. After building up a small but loyal fan base he was signed by Open Road Recordings in 2011.
His debut album Throw Down was released in 2013 after spending the year before on tour with Dallas Smith and Chad Brownlee. His debut single Get By went to Number one on the Canadian Country chart and held on to the spot for seventeen weeks. After that, Hicks’ success continued to build. Over the next 12 years he racked up more Top 40 hits and even a few more number ones. He’s collaborated with several big names in Canadian country music including Dan Davidson, Lindsay Ell and the Road Hammers.
Tim Hicks’ career continues to hum along nicely. His sixth album, Going Somewhere was released in May of 2026. His latest single The Pilot was only just released a few weeks ago and also happens to be in our \spotlight on this week’s Lammle’s Western Wear New Music Monday
