Flip-flop into happiness: Park Parties in Olds every Thursday throughout the summer

You know that summer is officially here when we are talking about Park Parties in the Town of Olds.

They will run every Thursday – weather permitting – between July 9th and August 20th, before a big Movie in the Park Summer Wrap Up on Friday, August 21st.

Heather Dixon with the Community Connection Centre notes that they will move around each week to a different park. Dixon says “it is just such a great way to showcase everything that we have to offer for our families when they want to get out and about in our community. It is also such a fantastic way for our community members to be able to meet new neighbours, to connect with old neighbours, and just really build that sense of community in each one of the neighbourhoods.”

The first Park Party is on Thursday, July 9th at Frank Wong Park on Shannon Drive from 5 until 7pm where there will be a free BBQ, games and more.

The rest of July’s schedule will include the Kiwanis Destiny Playground on the 16th, the Kiwanis Richards Crescent Playground on the 23rd, and the Rotary Park Inclusive Playground on the 30th. In August, the 6th will be at the Holy Trinity School Playground, the 13th at Craigs Corner Playground, and the 20th at Harrison Green. Stay up to date with all the happenings at the Community Connection Centre on their Facebook page.
