Lifting everyone’s spirits: Mountain View County reaches STARS fundraising milestone

Community members will have to look up, way up to see a special guest that will be arriving at Mountain View County’s annual Canada Day breakfast.

Reeve Angela Aalbers notes the County is reaching a funding milestone this year to STARS Air Ambulance. She says “in 2026 we will be just over $500,000 of contributions towards the STARS Air Ambulance, and so they have agreed to come and celebrate Canada Day with Mountain View County. So we can be expecting to see one of their helicopters fly-in to the County office.”

The exact date for Mountain View County’s annual Canada Day breakfast is still being finalized based on the availability of a STARS helicopter. Reeve Aalbers says “we’re going to have the recognition of the County’s long standing partnership and then the helicopter on the day of the event will unveil the Mountain View County logo in celebration of that funding milestone.”
