Didsbury, Airdrie RCMP warn motorists of ‘treacherous’ road conditions

RCMP are urging residents to stay home and off the roads due to winter weather on Wednesday, December 17th.

Shortly after 11am, Didsbury RCMP pointed out that there were “treacherous driving/road conditions” on the QEII highway between secondary Highways 581 and 582. Police say there is zero visibility and numerous vehicles are in the ditches.

Airdrie RCMP followed up just before 11:30am by advising motorists to stay off all roads including the City of Airdrie, Rocky View County, Crossfield, Beiseker, and all other rural areas they police.

Police continue to respond to numerous collisions. Airdrie RCMP also would like motorists to stay home so everyone, including all first responders, are safe.

Mounties encourage everyone to please check 511 for up-to-date road conditions.
