For the first time in 32 years, the Toronto Blue Jays will compete in baseball’s Fall Classic.
Designated hitter George Springer hit a three-run dinger in the 7th inning to push the Jays past the Seattle Mariners 4-3 on Monday night in the seventh and deciding game of the American League Championship Series at Rogers Centre.
First baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named the Most Valuable Player of the ALCS after hitting .385 with 3 home runs and an on-base plus slugging (OBS) of 1.330.
Toronto will take on the defending champs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the best-of-seven World Series.
The Blue Jays are 2-0 in their franchise history in the World Series with their titles coming in back-to-back years – 1992 and 1993.
The Dodgers will head to Toronto for Game 1 on Friday, October 24th.
